Certified Watchmaker 21st Century - what does that mean?

In 2005, the American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institute and the leading Swiss watch brands (Rolex, Omega, Breitling and others) decided to set new standards for the watchmaking industry  They created a series of certifications which determine if a watchmaker possesses the skills and knowledge  to service watches with the highest skill applicable within the watch industry.  Only those who passed the new CW21 exam by the AWCI can claim such a title.
